Rainbow was born in 1980 and arrived at DRC with Mr. Parrot in 1992. She soon caught the attention of Merlin, another Blue and Gold Macaw. The two have since become inseparable. They tend to be protective of each other.

 

Blue and Gold Macaw Facts: 

  •  Macaws are very playful and can mimic human vocalizations very well
  • Are a tropical species native to South America like Panama, Colombia and Brazil
 

How old is Rainbow? 
Rainbow was born in 1980, and can live 60-80 years. 

How big can Rainbow get?
They can have a wingspan of 42 inches and be about 34- 36 inches long including tail feathers. However they usually weight about 2-3 lbs.  

What does Rainbow eat?  
Rainbow eats primarily nuts but will also eat fruits and veggies.
